Direct family support and community-led
humanitarian initiatives in Gaza
Our Campaigns
We run campaigns for individual Family Networks, but we also initiate general campaigns for specific causes that can benefit all the families we are in contact with. The funds from such campaigns are then first distributed to the families that are most in need. Here you can see our current and past campaigns.
Current focus campaigns:
As the world watches falling leaves and enjoys the moderate weather, Gaza watches another winter of misery approaching.
“A winter catastrophe looms on the horizon.” (The Coastal Municipalities Water Utility (CMWU))
We cannot prevent it, but we can help the communities we care for survive the harsh winter season in dignity and safety as much as possible. Join us.
Other active campaigns
Tarps campaign: For families in Gaza, tarps are currently essential for improving their living conditions. They cover worn-out tents riddled with tears and cracks. They seal windows where glass panes are impossible to replace amid ongoing bombardment. They insulate walls punctured by bullets, cover damaged roofs, and sometimes serve as roofs themselves.
Education campaign: “Clothing, food, drink, shelter, and safety – so that he can study.” - This was one of the answers to an Educational Needs Survey we ran before the school year began. The challenge is not only paying tuition, it is also affording school supplies, books, backpacks, and school uniforms. Transportation is a significant barrier. Some children walk for an hour back and forth to school every day; others are not attending school because there are no schools in their area. Online education still requires a phone or a computer, electricity and internet connection.
Al Anwar Community campaign and School of the Future campaign: see details under Projects page.
A women community space: Help a woman from Gaza to establish a safe community space for women to come together, have access to basic facilities, such as electricity to charge their phones, and potentially develop their own income.
Past campaigns
Ramadan of Hope Appeal: During Ramadan, a time meant for reflection, generosity, and shared meals, families in Gaza were struggling to meet even the most basic needs. We wanted to helping families secure food for iftar and suhoor, and feel that they are not forgotten. The funds were distributed among the families we are in direct contact with.
A community bakery: A team of one man and three women were running an improvised bakery, and distributing bread among the neighboring families that could not afford even that.
A community kitchen: a dedicated couple was cooking and supplying hot meals around their neighborhood.
